Goodreads blurb:
In Fal Doram, also called as the great empire of Inkredia, a conspiracy begins to unfold. The first step is an easy one – kill a simple, villager named Luwan. When Luwan suddenly faces an enemy straight out of the folklore, he is left dumbfounded by the mystery why they are after him. As he makes a daring run to survive, journeying through the unknown world outside his village, new mysteries emerge, some closely concerning him. Riddled with questions and hunted by legendary assassins, and by the nonhumans made of the darkest element in the nature, Luwan makes a dangerous journey through the incredible empire of Inkredia.

My take:

This book had a rough journey for Luwan of Brida. But for the readers, the reading journey was as smooth as it could be.

The book starts off with an interesting prologue, instantly pulling the reading into the story of the book. The premise of the book wasn’t built within the first few pages, though. Rather, it was built slowly as the story progressed. But this was actually a pro here, as one can be assured of interesting elements adding on a constant basis.

When I realized that all of the book is going to be about Luwan’s escape from Brida, I was a little worried about enjoying the book. I really couldn’t imagine that a book of 400 pages could be written on escaping from a place. But the escape was surely an adventure. And at every turn of the story, there were twists and elements which kept me intrigued.

The characters are strong and well developed. There is something definitive about them which makes you empathy them, care about them, even fear them. They surely are as strong as, if not stronger than the plot.

The writing is very close to being flawless. I loved that about the book. It makes everything about the story more lively.

I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy or is in for an adventure!

My rating: 4/5 ⭐
